- Begin a family-wide “earlybird routine” where the last person to get up (i.e. that ageing beast in your garage) will be treated to a daily 6AM wakeup call replete with whistles, tambourines and a large gong.
- Put the washing machine and drier in the garage (after all, that’s what garages are for) and insist on helping a charity or sports team with excess laundry.
- Walk around naked. No child, no matter how mature they think they are, ever wants to see their parents in the nude.
- If all else fails, leave a trail of pizza crumbs leading outside the garage door to lure the adult child out of their den. Then bam! Run back inside and lock the doors.
